How does it work? Do I need to install anything?

Our backup service requires no plugins to be installed, or FTP access – all we need is a login to your blog administration panel. We collect the posts, pages and comments data using the ‘Export’ functionality built into WordPress.

User and plugin/template data is collected by parsing the appropriate pages of the admin panel. Once the dump is complete, we process the xml dump for all referenced media, and request these files directly from your blog, in the background.

We believe we have found the middle ground between the backup functionality, and the amount of input needed from the average user. Our solution is an elegant one, minimising hassle, and allowing you to do what you do best, blog!

How do I upgrade from Free to Premium

Once you have subscribed and have access to the control panel, you can upgrade anytime you wish with the subscription option in the Genie section.

How is my password stored on your system, could this information be compromised?

No system is 100% secure, however we take many precautions to ensure your authentication settings cannot be compromised. Backup storage runs asynchronously from separate servers and is stored in an append-only model using subversion. This minimises the risk of data corruption.

How do I restore my data?

Our system provides the ability to download any historical snapshot of your data. Posts, pages and comments can be imported directly using the ‘Import’ feature of your control panel. We are working to make the whole restore process automated.
