Domain

A domain is a location on a network like the internet that can be accessed using the domain name “phonebook”. A domain name is a way of naming a computer or resources by it’s IP address or by the high level friendly hostnames for example www.mysite.com translates to 196.148.0.32.
Using a textual domain name makes the numerical address of a domain easier to remember and much more accessible for standard users. Imagine trying to use the internet typing IP addresses numerically and then subdomains.
Here’s an example:
www.mysite.com/blog/post123.php -> In this example mysite is the domain, blog is a directory inside that domain, and post123.php is a file inside that directory.
