Graphical User Interface. The interface that allows users to interact worth an operating system, or software in more ways than just typing in a command line interface. A graphical user interface offers the user icons, and visual representatives, such as pop up menus and menu bars, navigation buttons, and exit buttons, instead of textual navigation and command executing.
The users actions in direct contact with the GUI then execute the same commands that would be present in the command line interface, but the GUI makes the system more accessible to a beginner user, and in some cases increases productivity increasing he speed day to day tasks can be performed, and lowering the skill level needed to operate the computer system.
