An Internet service provider is a company that provides internet access to its clients. The customers can connect to the internet through their ISP using and suitable connection method for transferring the Internet Protocol, this could be dial up, dsl, cable or wireless.

An ISP may provide additional services such as an email account, or a small amount of storage for hosting a web site, however, these additions are becoming much rarer as understanding of the internet grows, and users have dedicated solutions for their various requirements.
