Pressure

The pressure of the water used in the cooling system for the CatN data centre is monitored closely. As pressure will naturally drop over a period of time we have alert systems in place that contact system admins via email and sms as soon as pressure drops below 2 bar. However, this close monitoring allows us to increase the pressure long before any alerts are actually sent, keeping the coolant system running at optimum levels.

Temperature

The temperature of the coolant being pumped through the data centre cooling system is monitored by temperature sensors inside the coolant pipes. Close temperature monitoring is vital to ensure the heat exchange is taking place correctly and hardware is protected from over heating.

Coolant pressure graph

24 hour coolant pressure

The orange line shows a consistent pressure of approximately 2.27 bar.

The coolant pressure is never permitted to drop below 2 bar.

Coolant temperature graph

24 hour coolant temperature

The blue line tracks the slight changes in coolant temperature as it moves through the CatN data centre cooling system.

As you can see, the temperature never peaks above 19 degrees.
