Access Server
What is the Access Server?
The access server is a dedicated server whose sole purpose is to monitor, log and allow/deny access for a customer to their vCluster. This is the single point of entry to the CatN stack through our firewall/edge servers so must be heavily monitored and secured.
Users connect to the access server which takes various steps to validate their credentials and then offers a level of access applicable to the users credentials. This single point of entry keeps the rest of our infrastructure hidden and massively simplifies the process of logging clients that gain access to our infrastructure.
Our access server monitors the SSH commands being used by vCluster customer and send alerts to our system administrators if it appears as though a user is trying to gain access to another users storage. The access server does not only protect our network but also our customers sensitive data, so is an integral part of the CatN infrastructure.
