vCluster-updates

As those of you who attended WordCamp UK in Portsmouth will know, we have almost finished our new control panel for the upcoming release of vCluster 2.0.

To whet your appetite here are some images and descriptions of new control panel functionality in the upcoming release. We will be announcing the release before the end of the year and migrating current customers to our new platform as soon as it is available.

Cron Job Wizard

We are creating a wizard to massively simplify the process of creating a cron job. You no longer need to remember the order of date settings, and you can output the cron log to a text file of your choice by simply specifying the file location.

Of course if you prefer to use the terminal then this option is still available too!

Widget dashboard

The CatN control panel dashboard is now made up of widgets. They can be customised and dragged to the preferred position as well as turned on and off from a single option pane. We will be adding more widgets as the control panel matures and of course, if you need something in particular we will build it into our roadmap.

In particular the Calendar widget is looking great. It shows data such as billing date, and will soon be tracking communications such as support requests and when the user can expect a reply.

Integrated support

CatN support options have been integrated into a new dedicated support panel. You will be able to submit and track tickets, as well as navigate to our more casual forms of contact such as Twitter and Get Satisfaction.

There are plans to add support time tracking for any users who have purchased Silver and Gold support. This will allow us to easily track their remaining time, and allow customers to purchase more to ensure they have a constant block of support available.

So there are your control panel teasers. We are on track to release the new control panel and new version of vCluster before the end of the year. You can expect updates as usual on the CatN blog or on our Twitter account, @catnhosting.
